Hello today at Hampden street school in nelson NZ, we are doing birthday math!! I think mostly that you think is a bit silly. Yes,well but it does involve lots of maths such as; Looking for prices and what we need, we also have a limit of money which is $200 I worked with Alex p.

Down here is our maths.

Tiny houses

  • Problems in the world;
  • Pollution-Rubbish-Water-Air.
  • Over population-Jobs-House-Food-Water.
  • Global warming.
  • Lack of infrastructure-Roads-Sewerage-Bins-Water-electricity.
  • Food consumption-Sugar-Meat-Fat food-Palm oil.
  • Auckland housing-Space.
  • Global financial city.

But you may ask what has this got to do with tiny houses and math.
Well tiny houses stop most of this and we get to make our on designs and we our maths is the angels measurement and area

Perimiter vs Area

How do you find the Area?
Image result for area
Once you find the length and the with you times that togher and the answer is the area of your object so now we would to 4x8=32

How do you find the preimeter

Image result for perimeter

Basiclly you find out the length of each side but this time you add so the question here is 2+4+3+3+6+5+9=32

If you want to know a strategy how to find this out you just do the following example here.

2+4=6
3+3=6
6+5=11
------------------
6+6=12
11+9=20
------------------
12+20=32

and there is your answer.

Abel Tasman maths
(Golden bay)

At Hampden street school we are doing Abel Tasman maths.
We get to hectors (40,000 meters) of the national park and get to put what ever we want but we have to figure how big it is.

This is my Unfinished project.

Fractions.

Here is my Fractions work there are not to much fractions in it I admit. Though when you see this you will be blown away how much of an animal we leave.

Here is African elephant my pie chart

Cracking the code.

In room 6 we did cracking the code if you don't know what that is I will tell you it is a math task where you have a piece of paper and it has math questions and ounce you find them out you have a number and that is the number if you completed the task you are can make your own or with a buddy let me show you what Joey and I did.

  1. It is between 6982 and 2082.
  2. It has to make up to 25.92.
  3. The second number is the same to the thousands in the decimal numbers.
  4. 2 of the numbers are even and 3 of the decimal numbers are even.
  5. There are less then 4 zeros.
  6. Zero is an even number.
  7. The thousands in the numbers is two less than the tens in the decimals.
  8. The hundreds number is half the hundreds in the decimals.
and if you did that correctly your answer should be
6279.8470  <---------- there is the answer.
